One constituent common in most enamel frits is fluorine, but no studies could be located that determined the factor for fluorine alone. As ~ . a~ result, a small study was conducted to determine the effect fluorine on thermal expansion. Procedure Three frit compositions - a clear cover coat, a titania cover coat, and a general-purpose ground coat - were selected to which to add 1, 2, and 3 wt% fluorine. As the fluorine was increased, the rest of the oxides were decreased proportionally. The oxide formulas are shown in Table 11.
