Blessing and Inauguration of Velankanni Matha Church, Kakoi, Kimin

The newly built Velankanni Matha Church in Kakoi village, Kimin, was solemnly blessed and inaugurated on 06 July 2025 by Most Rev Benny Varghese Edathattel, Bishop of Itanagar. The joyous occasion was graced by the presence of several of our confreres, priests and religious from the neighbourhood, Smt Nabam Yakum, Zilla Chairperson of Papumpare, other dignitaries, and a vibrant gathering of nearly 400 faithful. The celebration included the Holy Eucharist, a felicitation ceremony, and a festive agape, marking the day with colour, devotion, and community spirit. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Fr Jacob James Poovathottathil and the faithful of Kakoi, who laboured with dedication to make this long-cherished dream a reality. Sincere thanks to the members of the community for their unwavering support and commitment. Well done, and may this new church be a source of grace and unity for generations to come!
